Darcy Drury

 

Darcy Lee Drury’s work mainly consists of faces, figures, flowing abstracts, or a combination of the three.  Her works are comprised of colorful layers of fluid acrylic paint, and richly convey her infatuation with color, line, and movement.  For her, the process is the highlight, and it typically involves blending, pouring, and watching the art piece organically grow into it's own unique form. Darcy sometimes works from a reference, but she also enjoys working spontaneously and relying on her intuition.  The resulting imagery may be recognizable, but it often emerges as a dreamlike aquatic landscape or an organic form on a microscopic level, each of which is filled with intimate patterns of life and growth happening.
