Janet Julian

Janet Julian is a Portland artist. She recycles discarded materials, transforming them into beautiful configurations. Her love of people, music, and animals informs her very personal style.

Janet has lived in various cities in the United States, Europe and Mexico, gathering flavors from wherever she travels in developing her unique visual language.  Janet loves Romare Bearden, Grandma Moses, folk art and American kitsch. She has made art since she was a little girl, and maintains her connection with the spirit of wonder. She is also a songwriter and singer and likes to dance silly.

Janet is widely collected. Her work appears in Cannibals Gallery in Portland, Crafty Wonderland Pop-Up Shop in Portland, and the Cracked Pots Art Fair Every July in Troutdale.

Janet's Artist's Statement:
"I like to take all variety of discarded material and give them a new life through my art."
